Working Together for Jesus
Our purpose is to partner with the 48 churches and missions of the Sandy Creek Baptist Association providing assistance, training, resources, mission opportunities, fellowship events, and more as they seek to fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord in their communities. As a missions mobilization center, we help provide ways to be involved in missions both abroad and at home.We hope you will find our Web site informative and helpful. PRAYER UPDATES
Don Daniel (Pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church) wishes to express his gratitude to everyone for their concern and prayers. He has had the cancer treatments needed and has had his gall bladder removed. He is now home from Baptist Hospital recovering and building up his strength. Within 30 - 60 days, he will go back to Baptist Hospital to have the bone marrow transplant.
Don has spent over 2 months in Baptist Hospital. Please continue to keep him in your prayers while he is home. Pray that he will not catch any kind of infection. Pray that he will be able to build up his strength and oxygen levels so he will be able to go back to have the transplant. Pray for Bobbie (his wife) and family as they continue to minister to him. Pray for Cornerstone as they stand by and minister to their pastor and his family. Pray that when he goes back, the transplant will go well.
God bless you all. Thank you for lifting one another up in the name of the Lord.
As many of you know, Bob Gelsthorpe (Pastor of Fall Creek Baptist Church) has been battling cancer for several years now. Recently his wife Jolene has also been diagnosed with cancer. Church St., Goldston, NC. Chicken Tender Plates at $6.00 per plate will be served from 11:00 AM until. An Auction will begin at 7:00 PM. Volunteers, desserts and auction items will be greatly appreciated. Our goal is to serve between 2,500 and 3,000 people. You're Assistance Is Needed!
Every two years all SBC state conventions work with GuideStone Financial Resources and LifeWay to conduct a compensation survey which churches use to develop compensation plans for ministers and support staff. Many of you have told me that you use this survey to meet with Pastor Search Committees and to assist churches as they work to provide meaningful compensation for paid staff. Without question the completed compensation study is the most used resource which our office provides for the appropriate church committees (personnel, budget/finance, deacons, etc.) to use in determining equitable compensation for staff. The 2010 Online Survey is now available for paid staff to complete. I would like to encourage you to place the following announcement on your associational web page with an encouragement for paid ministerial and support staff (secretaries and custodial) to click on the link and complete the survey. The survey will be available from January 5 until April 30 for persons to complete. In addition, I have attached an e-mail which you may use to send to all paid church staff for whom you have e-mail addresses in your database.
Thanks for your partnership in ministry and for assisting us in making the 2010 Survey the very best. As you know, the more people who complete the survey will increase its validity. If you have questions, give me a call!
Complete the 2010 SBC Church Compensation Survey today! We are again teaming with LifeWay
and GuideStone to conduct this survey. The survey’s findings (available mid-year) are used by
churches to develop compensation plans for ministers and support staff. Help make this year’s survey
the most complete yet. Ministers, secretaries and maintenance/custodial staff are invited to participate.
God Bless!!
